PTA

What do we do?

At Jersey College Prep we have an active and dedicated PTA. Throughout the year they organise many events and activities, which provide the school with additional funding to spend over and above the allocated school budget. This enables the PTA to consider requests from teachers for developments and resources that will ultimately benefit the children. These requests range from small everyday things the children love, like playground toys, to contributing to, or paying for much larger items such as the classroom interactive whiteboards, play equipment for KS1 and the Wellbeing Garden Room in the Millenium Garden. Who are we?

All Parents and Teachers are considered members of the PTA. Meetings are held every six weeks and usually take place at school in the early evening, for around an hour. Those who come along to committee meetings decide how money should be raised and spent. However it isn’t necessary to attend, so even if you are only able to attend one or two meetings, or put your name forward as a willing volunteer during events, it all helps.

Key Members of the PTA Committee include:

  • Chairperson
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Second Hand Uniform
  • Parent Reps from each class. (Please ask who your rep is so that you can be introduced.)

Fundraising Events

The PTA puts on cake sales, cinema evenings, dress-down days and the biggest event of the year is the School Fete; an enjoyable day for children, parents and teachers. Last year, we purchased new sports bibs that were embroidered, IT visualisers (special tools which hover over a child’s work, revealing it on the whiteboard at the front of the class) and equipped the kitchen for cooking classes and Design & Technology.

How can you help

The PTA is fortunate to have a number of committed members and volunteers, who help to make the PTA a success. Inevitably, each year when the Year 6 girls move across to JCG, we lose members and volunteers and we look forward to the new ideas and help from new parents and those who find their other commitments have eased. If you’d like to attend or help in any way, please get in touch by email via JCPrepPTA@outlook.com . Your ideas and help will be very welcome. Please check the school calendar and newsletters for upcoming meetings and events. We welcome all parents wishing to join us.
